How to choose products?

At this stage, the water repellents circulating on the market are divided into C8, C6 and fluorine-free water repellents

In terms of effect, C8 waterproofing agent has the most excellent effect and the most cost-effective. However, its products are not environmentally friendly and will produce APEO and PFOA, so Europe and the United States have banned the use of C8 waterproofing agent. At present, the market of C8 waterproofing agent is mainly in China and Southeast Asia.

Although C6 water repellent is a fluorine-containing water repellent, its APEO and PFOA are within international standards and are the most circulating water repellents on the market. The standard C6 waterproofing agent has a waterproof and oil-proof grade of 5 or more, a waterproof effect of 100 points, and a washing resistance of more than 10 times.

Fluorine-free water repellent is a highly efficient and environmentally friendly product, but due to its characteristics, it can only achieve a waterproof effect, and cannot prevent oil and pollution. It is most suitable for high-end fabrics exported to Europe and America.

How to use waterproofing agent?

Padding method:

1. Prepare the water repellent into a working fluid according to the instructions

2. Soak the fabric and use padding to dehydrate, which is one padding and one rolling

3. Dry using a high temperature setting machine (the setting temperature has different temperature requirements according to different materials of fabric)

Dipping method:

1. Prepare the water repellent into a working fluid according to the instructions

2. Put the fabrics or garments that need to be waterproofed into the solution and soak for about 30 minutes, take them out, and dehydrate

3. Drying

How to test the effect of the product?

The waterproof effect test of textile fabrics is generally static waterproof test and spray waterproof test!

The static waterproof test method is relatively simple and is generally accepted by customers. Take a fabric that has been treated with a textile waterproofing agent and lay it flat on a horizontal surface.

The following is the AATCC-22 spray test we often do for customers

The shower test is suitable for fabrics of any organization, which can be treated with or without water repellent finishing. This method is suitable for measuring the water permeability of fabrics. The test results are mainly related to the fibers, yarns and finishing in the fabrics, but are related to the fabrics. The structure is not relevant.

Equipment requirements: spray test equipment, measuring cylinder

1. Fix the sample in the test ring, and fix it on the 45-degree angle test frame

2. Measure 250ml of pure water with a graduated cylinder and add it to the funnel

3. When the water leaks out completely, tap the test ring once, turn it 180 degrees and tap it again.

4. Rating against the standard chart
